That space is furiously competitive with ERJ (Embraer) and CRJ (Bombardier Now Airbus), as well as ARJ (The Chinese jet). Even Russia have several, like the SuperJet...
With multiple countries catching up with highspeed train, these regional jets are seeing less and less demand...

MHI actually bought the CRJ type from Bombardier. Airbus owns the C Series type. Two separate transactions for 2 different types from Bombardier.

@Shenghao Han appears to have a somewhat limited view in terms of who owns what. Exactly as you stated RZ. The purchase by MHI of the CRJ series back in June 2019 put the final nail in the coffin of the MRJ. IMHO, this should in no way be a surprise.
