Beijing won't even let them get past the fence. China is a bit paranoid on public safety. For example, in China you get through a preliminary security check before reaching Check-in, there is a second security check for passengers afterwards...

The article had said it. Aviation hardly single handedly caused worse green house gas emissions. Asking people go back to travel by sea is just unrealistic with current technology. In the future we might get undersea maglev trains but we are at least 20 years away from that...

Contrary to Airbus's problem, Boeing can't get enough 747-8 passenger version orders. In the end cargo usually run out of mass carrying capacity before run out of volume. And A380 really needed considerable redesign to support for a freighter version, while 747 was designed with freighter conversation in mind (back them Boeing was developing 2707)

Could be a unnoticed hit at low altitude (or even 13000 feet), then vibration got worse/lose power later in flight.

Giving the "America first" mentality is harming anyone who isn't a 100% America company, they made a smart move moving away from US-made engines. God know when a president will just forbid you from buying the engines due to "national security reasons". Political issues aside, really hope someone can stand up to the Airbus dominance in the narrow body market, especially after Boeing shot themselves in the foot... Both Russian and Chinese haven't proven themselves yet, and Bombardier and Embraer were bought up by Boeing and Airbus...
