Im wondering why the DOT waited till now to ban them...this ban should have been implemented months ago when they first started catching fire..Here's hoping more of these "Samsung airport replacement booths" pop up at airports all over.

I wonder when they will get into the reality of the "TSAIWAWFAPIIHTITH" Agency (TSA Is Worthless And They Wont Find One If It Hits Them In The Head)

It's pretty much guaranteed that someone, who wont part with their phone, will sneak one onto a plane.

good.... was a time-bomb waiting to happen.... still, someone is going to sneak one on.. or in baggage... hope nothing bad happens... damn!

Leave 'em behind. Or risk getting removed from the flight...or worse. You could be prosecuted.

As for the phones...CRUSH 'EM

I was to have been in Iceland when this ban was put in place. What would I have done with my Note 7? As it happens, I didn't face that problem but I'm sure many travelers are. Do they just leave their Note 7 behind? How do they then get a replacement? I'm sure Samsung didn't have "replacement kiosks" in every airport in the world when this ban was announced. And even if your A/P has one, how many travelers would be aware they have to arrive extra early to exchange their phone?

It will only cause people to put their phones in checked baggage...causing a cargo fire. Not the smartest thing the DOT has done.

It's banned from checked luggage also. Doesn't mean people won't try.

Nice English skills, JAMAR. Not only that, but what difference does it make "who the hell buying galaxy," and how is that relevant to this article?
