I READ AN ARTICLE IN 'AVIATION WEEK & SPACE TECHNOLOGY' ABOUT THE FCC'S AGREEMENT TO LIGHTSQUARED'S PLANS. THE WHOLE IDEA OF THREATENING THE NAVIGATION--AND, THUS, THE LIVES OF THE CREWS AND PASSENGERS--OF AIRLINERS IS ABSOLUTELY LUDICRIS!!!! IF YOU READ THE ARTICLE (AND BETWEEN THE LINES), YOU KNOW THERE IS MORE TO THIS DEAL THAN MEETS THE EYE.....

Don't know how it is all going to wash out, but just our typical government at work, the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. Apparently the FCC granted the frequencies to Lightsquared some years ago, and only now, after they start making a monetary investment in infrastructure, did the FAA start thinking there might be a problem. Naturally, lightsquared says there won't be, but we have all heard radio splatter and skip before when a strong station bleeds over. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.lol
