US senator, Embraer in dispute over business jet subsidies

Well lets look at two (2) of the aircraft for comparison. Mustang and Phenom 100.....The 100 is a bit more on the front end but what a fine machine. Why is it unfair that they where aggressive and built a great airplane. And, well, people buy it. Maybe Cessna should take a look at how it all went down and LEARN from it. And maybe the senator should too. If I was going to drop 3-4m on a Bizjet of this size and planed to pilot it myself I would ABSOLUTELY go with the Phenom. It is a fine aircraft and is far more advanced for single pilot flying. Just my two cents.........

Agreed, I like Cessna jets, but the Phenom 100 is an absolutely beautiful aircraft. Embraer is making some great jets. I would also buy the Phenom if I was going to drop that sort of money on a Private Jet. The performance is good, the avionics are great, and its quite the head turner!

I find it odd that a Senator from Kansas is worried about what other countries are doing in regards to aviation and supposed government financing, why the US government throws money away at anything and everything. If the trade commission should look at any possible illegal activities, it should be at the US government throwing billions of dollars at projects that don't need to be developed. Ie: new windows for a public welcome center in the north west that has been closed for 5 years.

Deja vu?

I love when Senators and Congressmen scream capitalism, capitalism, capitalism... But when things start to encroach on their prospects or interests, they start to throw a fit. Is it going to be capitalism or socialism? Just because a legit company designs an amazing aircraft that is posing some serious competition to US aircraft companies, does not mean there is something illegal or fishy about the situation. I support Embraer and I hope they continue to do well. American companies need to wake up and design a better product. That goes for Cessna, GM, Dell, the full lot of them bleeding cash.
