Looks alot like a 737 with 787 engines.

Notice the new APU too. This is kinda like an entire new 737.

Boeing will keep the 737 or a successor 837 trading on the well known name but install large groups of 787 technology...wings and material to lighten the fully fueled TO weight. We might see a whole family of 800 designated craft from a 817 to compete in the 100-120 group, 827 etc.

It is obvious the 700 family has run its course with only 797 left and this would be a good opportunity for Boeing to move on with its improved technology...and corporate relocation to Texas or another low tax state.

Does any one know what "MAX" stands for? Like how airbus has the new
A320 "NEO" witch means "new engine option"

And why is it going to take them so long to delver the new plane? I mean, there are only a few changes that will effect the design and all, it's the 787 all over again.

I forgot to insert the point that the number 8 is a highly prized number considered by the Chinese to the utmost in luck. Car license plates with 8s are bought and sold in Hong Kong for large sums. Notice Air Canada, United, KLM and other airlines load their flight numbers with 8's going into and out of China.

Boeing is not stupid and knows where its market is going...look for an "8" series.

I miss the old ones.

I wonder if its going to replace the Boeing Y1 project and if the range going to be greater, especially on the -900ER which while is a good replacement for 752's in seating capacity, isnt a good replacement for range.

MAX efficiency.MAX realiability. MAX passenger appeal. I still think after looking at the pics we will lose the winglets and the wings will be just like the 787.

Isn't it though that boeing did research this for 787-3 and they found that for smaller planes winglets are more fuel efficient the the curved design.

I do not believe that this new 737 is no match for the A320NEO.
danishnelson
Hey Ediney747, what do you mean? Is the 737 MAX better than the A320NEO or is the A320NEO better than the 737 MAX?

In my opinion, I think Boeing has the better plane.
Ediney747
I think the A320NEO is much better than the 737.

I love the last paragraph which translates into:
"Take everything above with a large pinch of salt"
