Osaka Airport To Partially Reopen Following Typhoon Floods

送信時刻:

Following typhoon Jebi’s passing through Western Japan last week, major floods over Osaka-Kansai Airport forced the airport to shut down on September 4. Jebi is the strongest typhoon to hit Japan in over 25 years. Its name, which means swallow in Korean, caused more than 700 flights to be canceled as water flooded the airport’s runways, taxiways, and parking stands. (airwaysmag.com) さらに...

This report is inaccurate in that the airport partially reopened some days ago as you can see by looking at airport code RJBB on Flightaware. The photo shows Runway 1 underwater and Terminal 1 with water damage but Terminal 2 for regional carrier Peach and Runway 2 came through pretty well and started operating almost a week ago. Cargo carriers like FedEx has also been operating for some days as well. Major oversea carriers in Terminal 1 will however no start for a few more days.
