Duluth gets assurance that Cirrus will stay

送信時刻:

"When news of Cirrus Aircraft’s sale to a Chinese company broke last winter, its officials said not to worry: The Duluth-based airplane maker’s plant and its jobs would stay in Duluth." While it’s not a binding legal document, the memorandum is a commitment, noted Rob West, CEO of the Area Partnership for Economic Expansion. “It’s important because it offers assurances that the jobs that are here with Cirrus and its facility here will continue here in the future.” (www.duluthnewstribune.com) さらに...

I have toured the factory. It is amazing how those things are put together, or rather baked. Awesome facility in my favorite city in the US! I hope they keep their word.

This is standard business tactic. "not a binding legal document" is the operative phrase. A commitment from the Communist Chinese isn't worth the paper it's written on. These jobs will be gone as soon as is feasible for the Chinese.

I am from Northeastern MN. The Chinese - and Indians - have invested heavily in our part of the country updating our mining industry and providing a market in this struggling economy. It's nice to have this assurance when American companies such as Delta and Polaris have closed bases/plants to ship the jobs overseas.

Harsh rhetoric there, Dennis. Considering most of the goods we buy are made by the "Communist Chinese."
