This is a very needful thing, BUT, nowhere in the story does it say how NASA got in on this or that the FAA, which will be the lead licensing and regulatory agency on these drones, is involved in this in anyway. If that is the case, is it just wasted bucks from a government agency trying to stay busy????????? Will this be duplicated by the FAA since they apparently didn't ask for it and it's their job?????

This more about politics than anything else. Big step to take this outside the military. As always there is much that is kept away from the public eye..freedom or no freedom of information. Given that most aviation is within the capitalist system it makes sense that operators wnat to save costs. I could see the freight crews being made redundant by this invention alongside some military staff but I cannot see the public boarding a plane that has no human driver on the flight deck. I eventually found my glasses Wayne..hence no splelling mistakes..LOL.

It will all be interesting as these things develop as to who uses them. This collision avoidance is a big issue, regardless of the user. My gripe here is the apparent waste, as the FAA is the lead agency, and the story makes no reference as to whether they asked for this or if NASA just took it upon itself, in order to have something to do and spend some money.

ALMOST ON THE SPELLING UMLESS THAT WAS INTENTIONAL.LOL
