Alaska Airlines Raises Checked Bag Fees, Joining Rivals

Over the past two months, virtually all of the largest U.S. airlines have raised their baggage fees, with the notable exception of Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV), which remains committed to its "bags fly free" policy. Last week, the final holdout (excluding Southwest) joined the club. Alaska Air (NYSE: ALK) revised its baggage fee schedule, effective Dec. 5.
