Lakenheath F-15C crash, pilot missing.
Let’s pray they find him/her. The jet was lost on a training mission. (www.bbc.com) さらに...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Young guy newly married. Plus the fact that he died so far away from home....throw a nickel on the grass...
RIP Sir
Condolence's to the family and friends of the pilot.
The F-15C is not equipped with an automatic ground collision avoidance system. It doesn’t even have a radar altimeter.
Actually in the ILSN mode the HUD displays radio altitude!
Nope
"On the altitude scale, along the right side of the HUD, absolute (barometrical) altitude is shown in feet. The caret position on the scale indicates the aircraft’s current altitude"..so in effect is does have an altimeter via the HUD.
Bottom Right on the HUD the radar altitude is blank until the aircraft is within 1,000’ agl then it displays. Most of the info gathered on the internet is for a computer game F-15 simulation. Whether it is hooked up or activated in the software js another matter as far as I can determine, but again I could be wrong..
Yes, however there are a few actual F-15 manuals on the internet as well. Point I was making to F A is yes there is an altimeter, just wasn't sure how many feet AGL it illuminated. For some reason I thought 1.500 but wasn't sure.
