Etihad Slashes $21 Billion of Airbus, Boeing Orders

Etihad Airways slashed orders worth $21.4 billion at list prices for Boeing Co. and Airbus SE jetliners, pushing forward with a drastic restructuring after years of operational losses. The state-owned Gulf carrier cut its order for Boeing 777-9 aircraft to 6 jets from 25, while canceling delivery of 42 Airbus A350 wide-bodies, leaving it with 20. Etihad has been in financial difficulties for a while they used to back Air Berlin and when that failed it dealt them a heavy blow, they recently pulled out of Alitalia because it wasn't getting them anywhere either. So not surprising they are cutting costs.

There are more than just them considering what the outlook for the future might be with cap and trade, more useless enviro regs on the way these are just a few of them. Large jump in the public sector wages in the US causing more strain on the taxpayer and the new left taking over.

I guess trust is a big issue eith these carriers.. firm orders arnt so firm.
