Pilot Arrested For Landing Plane On Beach

...probably seemed like a good idea at the time...

Stupid "Nanny State" laws. I hope the officials did not let him take off from the beach...it might hurt their case.

Well I live in Georgia, I think its kinda stupid to land on beach because that can harm other people so you got look on the safe side.

Treborselpats, I agree with you. Was an arrest really necessary? It seems a ticket would have sufficed if this really was a problem. Poor guy, I feel sorry for him.

Ya know, back in the barnstorming days, good ole' boys would land their Stearmans right on the main street of towns all over the countryside. The townfolk and children would come running up with excitement to see a "hero." Everyone wanted their chance to get a ride in an airplane. The people would pay the pilot for admission to his aerial show. After entertaining the town, the pilot would leave, taking off from the main street he landed on. No one got arrested. In fact, people knew to get the HELL OUT OF THE WAY back then... you know, the good ole' days of common sense?
