Boeing Loses Billions, and 2 Loyal Airlines, to Airbus

送信時刻:

In October, two of Boeing's (NYSE: BA ) loyal airlines, Japan Airlines and Mexican airline VivaAerobus, placed orders with Boeing's chief rival, European Aeronautical Defense and Space's (NASDAQOTH: EADSY ) . In October, Airbus outsold Boeing. Is it time to worry? Clash of the titans The two titans of commercial airline sales have battled with each other for years, with Boeing more often than not coming out on top. However, October was not Boeing's month. First, VivaAerobus… (www.fool.com) さらに...

Not to be too glib, but the Sonoran desert is littered with the bones of low-cost Mexican airlines.

Boeing does not want to sell airplanes to those that can't pay. JAL sat watching while domestic and foreign carriers took their passengers. Viva tries to lose money on every flight, but make up for it on volume. Both of these carriers are operating on a wing and a prayer. The wings might as well come from EADS because I doubt either carrier will be around long enough to make the payments.

This is why your misguided patriotism makes you childish. Do you really think Boeing does not want to sell planes to their "loyal airlines"?! It doesn't matter if these airlines are losing money. How much money have our major airlines lost in the past decade? And do you really think JAL is not going to be around to make the payments?
Just man up and understand that Boeing lost and Airbus won. Yeah, those darn socialists got the deal and we didn't. Boeing and their fans should make the necessary corrections and improvements to make sure they get the next deal rather than spit trash about Airbus and/or their customers.

The US taxpayer backed bank, Ex-Im, will finance them for Boeing. No money, no problem. No credit, no problem. About to go broke, no problem. Fannie, Freddie, Ex-I'm; we're one big happy family. The taxpayers are good for it. Besides, our boss can just print more money.

You must be confusing Airbus and European Union...

Just saying financing was not the reason Boeing didn't get deal. Government backed just like AB.
bennettgaryw
Not quite, AB is backed by five government's This is why they can sell their aircraft at or under cost Not so for Boeing..

That's what I said. They didn't lose the deal over financing. We have backing from one BIG government instead of 5 small ones.

How many of Airbus' sales are A380's and how many A380's currently on the books will fall off the books when their option-holders wise up? One bad month for Boeing doesn't tell the full story....

How many 747-8s does Boeing currently have on the books? The current A380 sales don't mean Airbus is doing bad. Airbus' full story includes the order backlog of A320s and A350s.
