This has all the "markings" of a manufactured non-story. As some of our posters have noted, if it's Arabic then bloody well get someone to read it. Enough of this "could be" stuff. If it's illegible to an Arabic reader then we're moving into the Jesus-on-a-taco category.
I find this endless attack on government regulation tedious to say the least. Regulators need to be regulated. Bureaucracy is inevitably obnoxious. So what's new? Do some of you really want aviation with no regulation? That's insane.
Victor, tribal fusion seems to think that cutting and pasting other peoples' posts is amusing. This definitely is not the story to get your jollies on.
Those who love flying know the great feeling of confronting the inherent dangers of flight with skill, commitment, and enthusiasm. Many other people can only see the dangers, and they're the ones most likely to call for a ban on the race. Let them stay on their couches and leave us alone.
Thanks for the post. As an Ohioan, I always hear from older aviation people around here about the great Cleveland Air Races. Before they went to Reno they raced over Cleveland at the edge of the lake. Then around 1950 or so a pilot took his Mustang into a house and they found a new location in a less populated area. How population patterns have shifted in half a century!
Well said, John Donaldson. There's a lot of naivete out there about the capabilities and motives of Google and their ilk. Voluntary surveillance--a contemporary disease.
