Hi Sparkie. People do like to steal items off airplanes. Lifevests are a real popular items and liquor is a given. Taking a seatbelt or a seatbelt extension wouldn't float my boat but you never know what kind of people you're dealing with. They may be really into seatbelts and extensions! Anyway, you are right. You fly within US jurisdiction then you follow FAA rules and Regs. No getting around it.
illkerio- I started flying the 747-100 in 1972. Just an awsome feat of aviation.Flew the generations of the 747. The 100, 200, the SP, to the 400. Just want to put a shout out to her creator...the late Joe Sutter who was the creator of the B-747. He was brilliant in his design. Boeing didn't know if it would work but I remember the "Roll-Out". Then were the test flights and she exceeded all expectations
Thank you, Joe. You made aviation history! RIP, my friend.
God save the "Queen"! She will always have an overwhelming presence wherever she lands. She will continue to keep her legacy alive with the new 747-8 Air Force One. BORN IN THE USA.

This isn't the first time the Boeing engineers have done this creative move. They outlined the 787-8. The test team got creative flying a route that outlined the 787-8 over 22 states. And her nose was pointing home to Seattle.
The test team has done this before with the 737- MAX. They took her 8 hour test flight and spelled out "MAX" across Washinton and Montana!
Stefan- Been there, done that...even bought the t-shirt! But but whatever is thrown into the engine could rip the engine blades and do some damage or even
Throw shrapnel into the fuselage or other critical components that makes that bird fly. But you are right. The crew would shut down that engine and most likely land with no problem. I just have a problem with stupidity and lack of common sense.
