There are several volcanoes that could affect the global climate on a scale of a couple of years and eject large quantities of ash into the air. The fact that one more has been discovered is noteworthy, but not apocalyptic.
From what I can gather is that we are looking at a chance (nothing definite) of an eruption that has catastrophic LOCAL effects (i.e. if you live in a village near the volcano) with the potential for some short-term climate impacts. I see nothing to suggest that it will be anything on a scale we haven't dealt with within fairly recent history. This is definitely not a megavolcano like Yellowstone.

no it is not scaremongering it is common sense to educate ourselves, are you old enough to remember when the volcanoes erupted in Iceland - did we know about it beforehand or would it have been scaremongering to address the potential of this disaster ? knowledge is our existance
Are you talking about Eyjafjallajökull? I remember that well. I don't remember it being apocalyptic - "the beginning of the end". Yes, it was highly inconvenient, but it was hardly apocalyptic.
My issue wasn't that you were posting about a new scientific discovery. If you had posted a factual article with a representative caption, I would have thought it quite interesting. But "is this the beginning of the end"? No. The article uses the word "Catastrophic," but a little more research makes it clear that "catastrophic" is in reference to local effects (i.e. villages in close proximity).
