Can't help but wonder if the older, thicker phones that didn't bend while in your skinny jeans back pocket would fare better than these new super thin ones........not that I could get into skinny jeans anymore!

Reports say that this was a phone that had been replaced by AT&T on September 21st as part of Samsung's recall, so it had the new, "safe" battery.

Good one.
USAToday would never go for it. Most everyone else would.

I am a fan of the Galaxy world and I was about to buy this Note 7 but with those incidents happening around I feel sad for it and happy I did"t rush to buy one. Again battery issues are never going to end regardless of the type of phones you are using. I am glad they were on the ground when it happened and many airlines are announcing not to use Note 7 on planes anyway.

Samsung has come out with the fix. Boeing engineers gave it to them. They are sending out fireproof boxes to put your phone in.
Doobs
Passengers were told not to bring a Note 7 on board. Is common sense a thing of the past? Come on passengers
...get educated and follow aviation rules. That device could bring down an aircraft.Fire is devastating to an aircraft. Follow the rules!!! Trust me...as a crew member I have been there.

If it was an Apple iPhone CNN would be demanding the end of Apple. But unlike Apple, CNN/American Media does not view Samsung as an "Evil American Corporation".....

Well, wel... Perhaps the owner of this Galaxy7 didn't know that there was a recall of just this type of cellphone because just this type of problem... OR, perhaps, this was an ignorant idiot thinking that this sort of problem happens only to others...
joelwiley
Actually, the offending unit was a replacement for a recalled one. I don't think the first one torched.

I wonder why an ignorant idiot doesn't read the story in its entirety and get all of the facts before calling someone else an ignorant idiot.
