ICAO was founded in April 1947. Today's a/c registration markings proceed from that date. This aircraft is currently registered in South Africa. Ireland began using "EI" in 1929 so EI-ACD may have been the original registration number of this aircraft.

Great picture which reminds me that I had my very first flight on 8th, may 1958 from Berlin-Tempelhof to Hannover. It was a DC-3 by Air France!
