S64E Skycrane
An amazing machine! I worked with them fighting fire on several occasions and was always impressed with the machine, the crews, and the Erickson company. First class all the way.
I flew in the box of one of these back when the Alabama National Guard had these in Bham. It was a cold Day in December when we boarded, and it was real cold in that box from North Alabama to South Alabama. We were on a weekend FTX to Ft. Rucker

I spent some time at the HQ of Ericson Air Crane in Medford, OR. Got up close to one of these airframes in their repair hanger. Also saw one land and taxi in for some photo ops.
Those pilots are awesome. It came to hover a few hundred feet off the ground and slowly descended like an elevator. no movement except straight down.

Since Erickson has OEM rights to the aircraft, it is a S-64 "Air Crane" and not the the military "Sky Crane". However, old habits are hard to change.
