SW4 post engine start during "blue hour". These Metros are LOUD!

Takes me back to 5:AM run-ups @ MHT a few decades ago. Fun times for (some) mechanics, not so much for anybody living nearby the airport. These guys are NOISY!

Love working on this aircraft. As a avionics tech, it was great. Company I worked for which is no more, a Reginal Airline we started with the Metro 2's. Then bought 8 of the 3"s, and installed our own avionics system when we received the planes from the factory. UPS flew the 3's also and had double Avionics on all 12 aircraft. Got my A&P license through the company who did the maintenance on the UPS planes. Love this airplane and enjoyed working on it.
I much prefer blue hour over golden hour.

I loved the Merlin Metroliners, and, rode in both the 800 HP and 1,000 HP versions.
Use to fly in them out of Fresno, CA (FAT) regularly to connect in either SFO or LAX to go XC to the east coast.
They were to best to me of all of the commuters; and, yes, NOISY - wore attenuating headsets as I still do always.
