Airbus A330-200 (VH-YXW)

Early morning. Some light, but not much, in the sky as flight JQ692 to Darwin gets in the air. Just by fluke one of the old tower beacons got caught behind the jet efflux from the port engine making it appear there's a flame coming from the engine. Definitely was not.

Another ***** click. Dawn (and dusk) lighting changes (from left to right or ground to sky) surprisingly quickly and requires repeated settings corrections, not only between each separate aircraft, but even when shooting the same aircraft as it goes from the ground into the sky and etc. That's probably why most photogs only go out when the daylight is a "constant" instead of when it is getting brighter or darker every 60 seconds. I can't recall how many times I've been out at dawn or dusk and clicked a dozen or more snaps of a bird just to end up with only 2 / 3 to 4 / 5 "keepers." Great catch here.

Gary: Firstly, thank you for the compli. Spot on in every aspect for the dawn/dusk shots. Fingers on the shutter and aperture dials all the time as you move from left to right or vice versa and up and down depending on take-off or landing.

Davesheehy. Thank you. I'll post occasionally again as I'm busy with transport pages on Facebook these days, but I note FA has quite a number of holes in its photo gallery for Oz planes that need to be filled. Once in a while too, I'll get something that's a bit different like the above pic.
