de Havilland Dash 8-400 (N439QX)
This photo, snapped exactly nine years ago today (on Aug 4, 2010) captures QXE's N439QX, which was one of two Horizon Dash 8s wearing the "Comfortably Greener" special livery, as it climbs up into a clear blue sky. A note of historic Horizon Air significance in this photo is the old tail scheme showing the "horizon." In the nine years since this photo was taken, some important changes have occurred at QX: a new livery, titles identifying the parent airline (Alaska) have been added on the fuselage, and new Embraer aircraft have been added to the fleet and are gradually replacing the Dash 8s. One thing; however, has not changed. N439QX, now dressed in all new garb, is still performing daily revenue runs on QX routes.
Comments
The other Horizon DH8D that was painted in this green "Comfortably Greener" special scheme was N438QX. The "Comfortably Greener" scheme was removed from both planes later.
I never saw this one at MRY when I lived near there.......and 100 to 1 says I'll never see it at Redding. LOL! 5***** climb out and History.
