Boeing 737-800 (N3159G)
It is 90 minutes from being straight-up "high noon" and NAC's N3159G is less than 60 seconds away from touching down on 17R to complete a flight from Phoenix.
The sun was out and there were no clouds but there was also no breeze so the smoke from the four wildfires burning to the west of Reno was just hanging over the Truckee Meadows ... and the Sierra Nevadas were almost invisible.
Comments
As this Northern Air Cargo freighter came past my spotting position next to Charlie Taxiway, I was reminded of the Postal Service motto: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
And I thought how changing just a few words would make the PS motto equally appropriate here ...
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of wildfire smoke shall stay these NAC pilots from the swift completion of their mandated flight."
