Lockheed C-130 Hercules —

The is is a shot from a slide of my Dad’s in the mid to late 1960’s when Interior Airways in Alaska was flying large pieces of oil drilling equipment into the Prudhoe Bay Area of Alaska. The C-130 was instrumental in the development of the early oil exploration of the Alaskan Arctic because of its ability to carry large payloads and land on ice runways. I have always had a deep passion for the C-130 since first seeing them as an 8 year boy in Fairbanks Alaska loading equipment for my dad’s work up in the Arctic.
