Excellent shot of the G-44 and beautiful backdrop.
That's Oren Hudson's Widgeon. At least it was for decades. That photo is taken looking northeast at Lake Hood, Anchorage International Airport. Oren passed away 2 years ago. His son, Guy, just passed away this morning. Guy was a pilot for the Alaska Air National Guard and UPS. It is a sad day, but nice to see Oren's plane again.
Jim, you can still make out "Oren Hudson", Anchorage Alaska" on the nose at the pilot side. The plane is based currently at Merrill and it's great to see it being flown!
Jim Walton, the Hudson family sound like people you would really enjoy knowing. I'm sure they have left a grand legacy in Alaska. Rest in Peace.
