Stark contrast to last weekend's weather! Major system hitting Southwestern Ontario and points East with rain, freezing rain, ice pellets etc. Horrible day for spotting. Here the ploughs do their thing on YYZ's runway 05/23 before the mid-afternoon rush of heavies from Europe. Alternating runways like this all day made for a rough day for ATC and pilots alike. Many inbound aircraft put into holding patterns before landing and a slushy touchdown when they finally did. Many cancelled flights today and tomorrow!
