Some Parts yes... I had one part for my plane that was made out of"Unobtainum"... A Friend had a 3D file for the part. Sent it to get it printed and it works great.. Better and more heavy duty than the original.

So it was a certified aircraft part you replaced? Dont think you are qualified to figure out if its better than the original part. Printing part randomly is not a good thing for many reasons.

Under the aging A/C program, the owner can substitute a suitable part under FAA Part 91. A friend had a CAD program and he made one for his a/c, he sent the file to me and I sent it to a company to make it and it is a lot stronger, more doable, and the same size as the original.
