OK..WOW..seriously,just how many of the southwest management staff at DEN have been able to get to offices at the airport due to the blizzard conditions..just what kind of incentives like double time and a half or a couple of extra paid vacation days or sick leave days have been offered to try to get people to fight the conditions and possibly jeopardize themselves,to get to the airport and tell people, sorry, the weather is bad and we will have to see if we can get you out tomorrow..!weather conditions ALWAYS pose an "operational emergency", and this one happens to be the biggest arctic blast seen in weather histoy, because it has covered almost the entire county as it has pushed down..i think southwest will be sorry they threatened so many with their jobs with this..they are no longer the "little airline that could",that so many people "raved" about..they have become another major player in the sky, with all of the same issues and problems!

working at the airport as an agent is sometimes fun, sometimes stressful, sometimes tiring, but it should never be a danger to your physical well being!the woman who assaulted the agent needs to be fined and do some jail time, and the CPS should be contacted regarding the well being of her children, which she seemingly cannot take care of..

iah has had a whole lot of new construction going on these last several months, from a new terninal,to new roads and the like..that in itself has caused massive headaches for those travelling to and from that airport, let alone cancellations and delays due to weather or lack of flight crews..hobby is also having periodic road work and terminal improvements, plus the same issues with flight crews, delays and cancellations..people are just now getting back into the airplane travel mode for vacations and such,so misery and spending a lot of time coming, going, sitting in the terminal and such might be called "misery"!!

oh well..i am "old enough to remember"before all of the major carriers started the partnerships with regionals of any livery, and changed the paint and bookings to their own..that was in the early 80's..at that time aa flew its regular jets into some smaller cities, and then eliminated that and expanded to even smaller communities by using the regionals.."progress" i guess???

INTERESTING..FUEL IS IN CORPORATED INTO THE TOTAL WEIGHTS AND BALANCES OF AN AIRCRAFT,SO IF THEY ARE BEING REQUESTED TO CARRY EXTRA FUEL SO THEY DONT HAVE TO "FUEL UP" AT ORLANDO,THEY MIGHT HAVE TO DO A PASSSENGER LIMITATION,WHICH WOULD CREATE OVERSALES,OR LIMIT BAGGAGE/CARGO..I HAVE SEEN THAT HAPPEN BEFORE..

the link was not available..someone posting here noted orlando, las vegas and tampa as the new bases..all three of those cities are "touristy", and as leisure travel is picking up,that also means ual will be adding flights to and from those cities,(which by the way already have a lot of airline and flight choices)...

oh for the "good old days", when the aircraft seats were equipped with a phone imbedded in the seat back in front of you, that could be used with a credit card, and no one was "lap topping" it or using a tablet or a phone!!!also the "good old days" of headsets you didnt have to "rent"to listen to music quietly, and a large video screen at the bulkhead for those who wished to watch a movie!....guess i am showing my age!!

through the years airlines have closed bases and relocated crews to other cities or stations, while still continuing to fly in and out of that particular city..part of this might be the rumor that american is planning a new crew base in las vegas and possibly one in phoenix, which were big stations for u.s. air before the merger..i remember years ago when aa closed buffalo and seattle..in any case,i have known many flight attendants who lived in one city and commuted to a crew base, usually those with 10 or 15 years or more seniority, and those same senior f/a's would bid schedules where they only flew 3-5 days per month, and the less senior, or "reserve" people picked up the slack..aa cannot afford as a company to have 400 flight attendants be given "early retirement" or be laid off..its not considered "fulough" with rights to return if a person refuses a company request..i wish them all the best and it is surprising aa (at least not mentioned in the article)is not offering SFO flight atte

Today is november 30th and the incident occurred on november 19th..the statement from the airline seems to indicate he either died at the scene or at the hospital shortly thereafter, as it says despite the work of paramedics and the hospital,he passed away..sympathy to his family and fellow employees of envoy..
