(Duplicate Squawk Submitted) Boeing 787 makes emergency landing smoke in cockpit TOKYO (Reuters) - A Boeing 787 operated by All Nippon Airways Co made an emergency landing in Takamatsu in western Japan after smoke appeared in the plane's cockpit, but all 137 passengers and crew members were evacuated safely, the Osaka Airport said on Wednesday. The incident comes on top of a slew of recent problems with Boeing's new Dreamliner aircraft. The sophisticated new plane, the world's first mainly carbon-composite airliner, suffered two fuel leaks, a battery fire, a wiring problem, brake computer glitch and cracked cockpit window last week. (Duplicate Squawk Submitted) United 787 makes emergency landing in New Orleans A brand-new United Airlines "Dreamliner" bound for Newark, N.J., was diverted Tuesday morning, making an emergency landing in New Orleans because of a mechanical problem. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner recently entered service in North America in a debut last month with United Airlines. United and Boeing are both based in Chicago. United flight 1146 from Houston to Newark was diverted to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and landed safely, the airline said. (Duplicate Squawk Submitted) Plane veers off runway at O'Hare, no injuries reported A commuter plane veered off a runway at O'Hare International Airport this morning but there were no reports of injuries. American Eagle Flight 4096 had taken off from O'Hare bound for Tulsa but the pilot reported problems with the landing gear and returned, according to Elizabeth Cory, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane touched down on Runway 10 around 8:40 a.m. and "veered off the runway," Cory said. http://www.chicagosuntimes.com/

The accident happened around 1 p.m. on a taxiway, officials said. American Eagle Flight 4265, an Embrear 140 had arrived from Springfield, Mo. and was headed to Gate G20 at Terminal 3, according to American Airlines Spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan and Aviation Department officials. (C6L.SG) A380 superjumbo jet en route to Frankfurt to return to Singapore on Tuesday, in the latest incident involving Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RR.LN) engines used to power the world's biggest passenger aircraft. Flight SQ26, which was carrying more than 430 passengers, landed safely at 6.40 a.m. local time after its crew reported a problem with one of the jet's four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines nearly three hours after takeoff, the airline said in a statement.
