Business Select has never been $10 and it includes a fully refundable ticket. Early Bird was $10 as a promotion when it started. Business Select does not board ahead of A. A1-A15 are reserved for Business Select but if they aren't sold then those boarding spots can be purchased at the gate for $40. Taking a gamble on whether those spots are going to be available may pay off, but it may not.
As for CLT, SWA has committed to serving every airport that AT serves with the sole exception of DFW which is prohibited with their Wright Amendment settlement. I'm sure we will also expand the city pairs that are served from those AT cities that are new to the SWA system.
SWA has announced that they will keep and operate the 717's (there are 86 of them - AT's largest fleet). They may, in fact, pick up a few more if Boeing is successful in re-marketing the Mexicana birds.
You can plainly see that the ground crew who runs back to the line gives the flight crew the "Stop" signal - arms crossed above his head. Then they run up to hook up the tug. I work for another major and we never shut down the engines until the tug is hooked up (just make sure the nose-gear hydraulics are off before they try to hook up the tug). That way we always have brake pressure and aren't counting on the accumulators. Clearly the ground crew was NOT expecting him to taxi in and since there wasn't anyone marshaling him in he shouldn't have moved the jet. Huge communication issue here.
