Funny how in the days we were all excited about jet engines coming into aviation and not having puddles of oil on the ramp, now I am sad to see the piston pounders slowly dying out. I would stop what I was doing every time one of these great aircraft left a tanker base, using every inch of runway and drafting the trees. RIP.

Nice photo. I served as SAR aircrew when it was the HH-52 off to the rescue. Single engine, but we could land on H2O. The 52 was not very fast, but it was a workhorse. Semper Paratus!

One can always tell it is an OV-10, screaming Garrett! The pilots on these are contract pilots for Cal Fire, they earn their money, many days, many hours....

Being a former USCG aircrew, (talking days of the HH-52) the Spartan is a good platform selection for the CG. My opinion.
