There are many helicopter ops in the area. You should be able to get a ride with ease.
I agree about the gunfire, but we were too high up and away from most of the shoreline.

Seems like trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific flights are better served by JFK, LAX, ORD, and for Continental, EWR in New Jersey.
