If these unapproved carts had been made in a Bangladesh sweat shop would your comments remain as written? I think not. The carts require FAA approval...loaded they may weigh upwards of 150lbs and without proper brakes for instance, they could become a real problem in turbulence or an emergency.
They are getting fined for lying. It is one thing to sell the carts without approval, it is another to sell carts with a sticker on them saying that they are approved when they knew that they weren't.
with real aviation related deficiencies all around the system, the FAA wastes weeks on something this trivial. Lack of focus, lack of direction- this is stupidity
this is the sort of siliness the FAA is renowned for- pointless regulation and onerous fines and enforcement. Most aviation people could give the faa a better clue on what to investigate and it is not this.
