The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $150,000 penalty against Talon Air for allowing four pilots to fly on at least 64 flights without proper training, in violation of federal regulations, the agency said. According to a six-page letter sent to Talon Air Inc. by the FAA, the company "operated aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger life or property of another." This is really speedy and effective government, for this to happen 2 years ago. Really makes me sleep good at night knowing that they are so up to date and on top of things.
FRG FSDO probably works hard when they want to. A company I used to fly for, slapped a lawsuit against VNY's FSDO. We got ramped everywhere we went after that, especially FRG.
Had that happen once with the DOT when I had the truckline. One of our driver's pissed of a roving inspector real good and next thing I knew, every truck we had was getting pulled in for inspections. With the world connected now, it generally don't take but a couple of keystrokes to let everybody know what a fine upstanding young man you are. LOL
Well, a lawyer owns and runs it, c'est la vie... I knew and ran into pilots working there that had nothing good to say, didn't get their days off, etc.
I put in to be off, that area is going to be shut down, especially if it snows. I live 77 miles south. Even if I make it in, I probably won't make it out to get home...
The owner of Talon Air is one of the worst people I have ever met. He never stops slapping former employees with lawsuits so I would bet a pilot told on them. I really hope they lose their ARG/US rating.
