Joseph Aquino, 31, Warwick, Rhode Island, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Providence on Friday to a federal charge of willfully interfering with the safe operation of an airborne commercial aircraft and endangering the safety of the 23 passengers and three crew members onboard. I could not agree more with the need for a maximum sentence on this. Make an example of this person or people will not take the law seriously. Although it may seem like tasteless self-promotion, feel free to read an article I put together about this problem. Just trying to share some information on this serious safety concern.

Sadly, it is very difficult to apprehend the increasing number of idiots who are doing this. So I hope the judge makes an example of this clown with a stiff sentence and fine. And I would hope Congress takes up the issue of licensing these green lasers, which have no use in the hands of the general public. The weaker red lasers are just fine for any general use.
