Keep squeezing and soon there will be none. There is a limit and the TO restrictions to power settings has caused problems over time with AC lost. With more restrictions that could mean lower loads in some so power is reduced.

Agreed, if you are on a approach in turbulent weather in complete IMC you want to proceed with a little "wiggle-room". Turbulence and stalls in terrible meteorological conditions have taken their share of pilots and passengers alike. Wiggle room means how much extra power you want to have available to you in an emergency. You don't have to push it and wait seconds that seem like an eternity while the engine finally spools up to that magic 11% or 12% if you carry a little extra power for the abominable conditions. Sometimes I think controllers have a secret pilots fetish. Controllers who like to get into the pilots seat and screw everything up. They should be kept in the dark and moist environment they love.

And there are people who moved to an area with a major airport, then sue the airport for noise, expecting compensation.....

Where do you get your statistics ?

Randall Kimm: The problem is not CONTROLLERS getting into the pilots' seat. The problem stems from PLANNERS in FAA headquarters who write the regulations.

Don't tell POTUS! The only place that will require quieter aircraft will be in and out of KPBI.
