To a degree this is quite funny, but working with these things (UGH) it is a major issues. We have cancelled 2 hour because of inop toilets.

Now that is rather "Crappy" to say the least!

The formerly great BBC is beginning to seem like North Korea's KCNA - stories absolutely void of facts.
Bernie20910
Journalism is actually dead. You didn't hear about it because there was no one left to write a coherent, factual obituary.
joelwiley
You might be right. This was published 18 years ago. I don't know if journalism covered it, I was out of town.

Evidently the crew had a duty to acknowledge the pax' dooties.
forsythpond
Wouldn't you think the BBC writer of this article could tell us the name of the airline?
DTBMF
Yup, hell of a story. Great journalism there, the writer will probably have a Fox News show soon.

Had this happen in about 1987 on the same type of aircraft, B767 en route DFW, ORY and thought we'd be ok locking the first class cabin toilet with the then Governor of TX.on board and all was ok until descent into Paris and the waste started seeping under the toilet door. Most embarrassing. A popped circuit breaker as it turned out.
paul8626
Did they divert because of the customers s----- attitude?
sailsomsen
Perhaps I missed the facts, but What Airline?
paul8626
You did not miss any fact... the article didn't tell us much. Some of the people did the research that the BBC neglected to do and found that it was an OpenSkies 767. F-HILU.
paul8626
You are flying to Paris. Is there anything special you are going to carry on?

Depends...

Ok, what was the airline? BBC to politically correct.
aidannorman
The airline was OpenSkies, it was a Boeing 767.
forsythpond
Thanks. Never heard of them.
aidannorman
They're owned by British airways, they only fly between JFK/Newark and Paris Olay
bankakinmola
Very considerate that the crew made decision to divert the aircraft to alleviate to could have become incredibly painful or even injurious. Which airline was this?
joelwiley
