As a former Reserve Cop I never had to "blast" anyone with a Taser.........please, please, please, explain to me how one is blasted. I believe the only one "sauced up" was the author of this article.
Artie7998
Maybe author is a Trekkie?
Taser / Phaser - same thing, right?
;)

When I travel I want to go from A to B as quick as possible, these guys always want to do it the hard way and add so many more points on their way and so many more hours and extra tickets. WTF

Usually the best stories start with, “A Florida Man” but this one is still pretty good
frequentflyguy
That's because most "Florida Men" are from someplace else. No one is born here. :D
ewrcap
Maybe not born there but they learn quickly.
ewrcap
PS. State of FL reported 209,000 live births in 2020.
frequentflyguy
They were with child moving here LOL
rwoollams
Another argument for a "no fly" list for these clowns.

good example of some exceptionally bad high school "reporting". I can't believe the stuff some of these web-sites put out these days. It would be better to site more professional sources than this.

Don't tase me, bro! Don't tase me!

Seems like every day there is another story somewhere that defends making all airports/aircraft Alcohol free zones!
kiwipop
Totally agree. I have never in my life felt the need for alcohol as I pass through an airport. I enjoy a drink like most folks. But, at an airport????
Artie7998
I've never drank at an airport either, but I always assumed a lot of people were self-medicating their flight phobias. And the remainder were alcoholics who drank wherever they went. Again, just an assumption. I didn't ask. After all, who wants to start up a conversation with a drunk at an airport? ;)

The good people of Tampa thank the airport police for keeping this jerk out of their beautiful city.

For once it isn’t the “Florida Man”!
briansfreeman
99% of all police use of force incidents would be avoided if people simply OBEYED officers' direction. Why is this simple concept so difficult for human beings to understand??

Blasts? Really guess you are quite the reporter. And airplanes are Piper Cubs in your world. How would a taser blast someone???????
royhunte92
I don't think Cal wrote the article......

TASER nomenclature calls the two pieces of plastic on the front of the cartridge, "Blast Doors". Maybe that is where the term came from or maybe it was a bit of News Hype. When the TASER is activated with a trigger pull, the probes knock the blast doors off and out of the way when launched.

Once again grandiose word baiting. Amature reporting and editing.

Indeed - amateur. May I burn in hell for 2.5 hours as punishment for my transgression.

Grew up Catholic eh?
villagelawn205
Mr. Beattie, I’m a recovering Catholic!

It would behoove you, Mr. Chiasson, if you intend to take someone two task over their use of language at least to spell the words correctly. A snarky riposte does not an excuse make.

And damned if I didn't do the same thing. Thanks speech-to-text algorithm. 😝

Funniest story I’ve heard today!

It’s more like a pop than a blast. Maybe a desk-pop. LOL!

I newer DRINK at airport, who can afford those sick prices?

There is NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH AT THE AIRPORTS.
kerimparrot
This is 1 way the law enforcement people get their people. At least the 4 cops did not knee the neck this time.
ewrcap
I worked for airlines for forty years. I was damned happy to have the police or Air Marshals on my side. Not all officers are angels neither are all pilots, doctors or bankers or protesters. I know of a few pilots who showed up for work drunk. Doesn’t make all pilots alcoholic.
