The Boeing 737 MAX Could Have a New Problem

The company that makes engines for both the Boeing 737 MAX and the Airbus A320 NEO is shifting the split in favor of Airbus. That will mean there are fewer engines for Boeing to install on the planes it produces. (www.nasdaq.com) さらに...

So what do you get when profit and busting unions are your prime reason for existing?

This is an engineering and design flaw, but could have been caught if they listened to the people actually building the things. And 'another flaw' should be painted on the side of the ex-CEO's house. Whoever managed the engineering department should be tossed off the top of the assembly building! Were they totally phoning in their jobs? Good grief...

The problem in a nutshell McDonnell Douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money. The culture at McDonnell Douglas was one of profit over performance Boeing needs to go back to their old culture of engineers running the show.

“This will mean there are fewer engines for Boeing to install on the planes it produces.” Oh no, our 737 MAX production rate is going to zero this month, so how will we ever get the zero engines we need??

The article says CFM will build up to 2,200 LEAP engines this year, so at the new split of only 42% for Boeing, that’s as many as 924 engines: quite enough for a production line that’ll restart who-knows-when, and probably at a low rate at that.

Bottom line: nothing to see here.

Good, they need to just stop making them, period.

In 2020, Have Boeing’s Problems Just Begun?

The date on the calendar may have changed, but in 2020 Boeing is facing the same problem: when, and if, the 737 MAX aircraft grounded worldwide will be deemed safe enough to fly
