This youtube video includes complete ATC audio communication with the aircraft as well as video of the crash and very clear picture showing damage to the underside of both engines which would confirm reports that pilots had at made the mistake of not putting the gear down when they made the first landing attempt >>> https://youtu.be/jpJa9H7zAp4?t=111

Looking at that map of the runways and the neighborhood, its' beyond me why he just didn't just go with the belly landing. He may have got some altitude (2k ft.) but didn't get far. We'll never know what he was thinking.

ATC coversation re: "comfortable" was a hint that they were too high and too fast to begin with. ATC offered them an option to bleed off speed and altitude, but they said they were "comfortable." THAT was the beginning of the chain of events. IMHO. Things got "un"comfortable very quickly and someone forgot the gear. The warning chimes (ding ding ding) can be heard on the audio. The complete accessory system (electrics, hydraulics, fuel pumps) is directly under the engine, centimeters away from the lower nacelle at 6 'oclock.

Well, what if they tried to raise the gear before positive rate established? Wouldn't be the first commercial aircraft to sink to the runway, happened all the time back in big radial days.

I’ve seen reports that they’ve found a few survivors.

Lots of conflicting reports on survivors, for sure. I saw one that said a bank president was on board and had survived, another that said all dead. The fog of a disaster creates a lot of confusion.

What would cause both engines to fail and the Rat to be deployed if I may be so kind to ask.
bentwing60
The RAT auto deploys with a double bus fault.

Thank you bentwings60

Sliding down the runway on the bottom of both nacelles may compromise the integrity of power generation, hydraulics, and fuel systems as the accessory cases are located there.

Way too early to draw conclusions though.

You have the best clue!

I am seeing speculation that the pilots forgot to put the landing gear down and it made a touch down on its belly. A picture of one of the engines shows damage to the bottom of the engine. The pilot then tried to do a go around with damage on both engines. Here you can see the picture > https://twitter.com/noirroadbluesky/status/1264000533813231617?s=20
