Having taught Statistics classes in which we conducted our own surveys, I am suspicious of any survey that doesn't list the organization that sponsored it or the methods used to collect and analyze the data. From recent personal experience there is no way that I would say Glasgow has the 2nd-best airport in the world. It's nice enough, but #2?
Interesting. There are no U.S. airports on the list. Are the airports in the U.S. really that bad? I don't think so. I'm with indy2001. I'm suspicious of this survey.
I looked through it twice wondering how they missed EWR...LOL.
Surveying just 65,000 travelers probably isn't statistically significant to come up with the 10 best airports in the world.
Actually, a sample size of 65k is statistically significant. The problem lies in how random the sample was. For example, if the survey included only Europeans, the sample population would not be truest random for this survey type.
No, 650000 samples isn't statistically significant. More than 8 million people travel by air every day (source: http://www.iata.org/pressroom/pr/Pages/2013-12-30-01.aspx), so 65000 samples represents less than 1% of even one day's worth of travelers.
It's called opinion poll... nat always accurate. In this case most major airports measure their passenger flow in millions, not thousands. LOL.
