BOS3 LFPO > KBOS makes emergency landing at CYQX, plane confirmed on fire.

Not sure about Shannon, however, when it landed here in Gander, there was a small amount of fire somewhere. This is coming from one of the responding town firefighters(myself). The airport crash guys took care of whatever was the problem. It was nowhere near as serious as the news had originally made it out to be.

Some concerns were raised, as a local news outlet had posted a picture that showed smoke coming from the front of the aircraft, however, it turned out to actually be from one of the crash rescue trucks.

Sounds like it turned out to be a mechanical issue, not a confirmed fire.

Well another misleading post as if there was ANY fire the AC would not have continued on.



Wish that people would read the acritical they post before posting as this didn't even rate as something to be posted it was a false alarm.

Half hour to bravely fight the fire, rescue all, repair the A/C, reload and depart.
Yeah, right.

Is this the second Open Skies to make an emergency landing on the same day? Apparently, F-HAVI, a B752, also departing from Orly, made an emergency landing at Shannon. A main landing gear wheel well fire indication came on, false reading.
