Boeing says Malaysia jet not subject to FAA inspection order

送信時刻:

Boeing Co on Wednesday said the missing 777 Malaysia Airlines jetliner was not subject to a new U.S. safety directive that ordered additional inspections for cracking and corrosion on certain 777 planes. The Federal Aviation Administration last week ordered additional, repeated inspections of certain Boeing 777 aircraft, warning that corrosion and cracking could lead to rapid decompression and damage to the structure of the aircraft. OZAIR....try to read and comprehend the subject story at the top of the page. Be sure to read the whole thing ie click on the "more" button.

"Boeing said it worked closely with the FAA to monitor the fleet for potential safety issues and take appropriate actions. But it said the 777-200ER Malaysia Airlines aircraft did not have that antenna installed and was not subject to the FAA order."

Anyway this was not the only directive that was recommended from memory there was another 2 that could potentially bring down a 777,1 involved the elevator, loss of elevator control, take your pick.....

While i am at it most Airline crashes involve Boeing aircraft.

More airliners are Boeings than any other make.

OZAIR, a Pilot you ain't!

Like ummm, maybe there are MORE Boeings flying than other types and hence a higher % of crashes?

In any case, SERIOUS accidents involving major loss of life is won hands down by AIRBUS, read the stats Mate, and stop posting rubbish! Suspect you are a typical "wannabe" pilot!

Go to FAA website and read the directives yourself, then you decide.

The missing aircraft was a Boeing 777-200 from what i know and from what i read 777-200s had that directive on the FAA website 5 days ago,it doesn't matter that it was only for USA aircraft, they have a duty of care to ensure any potential defect that could cause an airliner to crash unexpectedly and cause mass loss of life to ensure other airlines follow suit to ensure all Boeing 777s no matter what country it fly's under knows and adheres to the directives.
If and I say IF this was a cause of the accident the Boeing and the FAA need their butts kicked and heads should roll.

Boeing and the FAA are saying that these directives do not apply to other airlines is like saying wind sheer at JFK only applies to USA aircraft and all others can be not told about the potential dangers ahead.Seriously ??

it doesn't matter anyway if it was a world wide directive or local flying school directive some companies will not get around to doing it because their lazy and incompetent or just greedy and can't afford to have aircraft on the ground.
Some previous crash investigations have proven this in the past.

so now they are saying the defects we find only concern American 777s.
I read the directives and it said all 777s including 777-200s 777-300s,maybe they altered it since then but that would be corruption.

Surely if a country finds a potential serious defect in a make of aircraft that other fly too legally the manufacture would have to pass on this information to the other countries or be liable for Negligence of some sort.
That would be grossly irresponsible by all involved and worthy of a jail sentence for the persons not ensuring the directive applied to all countries.

US regulators warned of problems on Boeing 777s

Washington (AFP) - Months before Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 mysteriously vanished, US regulators warned of a "cracking and corrosion" problem on Boeing 777s that could lead to a mid-air breakup and drastic drop in cabin pressure.

What happened to MH370?

Has anyone considered if the below FAA Airworthiness Directive could be a clue the MH370 investigation?

A November 2013 FAA Airworthiness Directive for the 777

As many hatred comments as you have on here, it sounds like you have a big hard on for Malaysian Air. You may be justified in your belief but by your numerous rants you have discredited any point you are trying to make. Once is plenty. Mark has given you the Boeing link. What else do you want? Get over it!!!!!!!!!

Guys, forget OZAIR!

Be surprised if he is even a pilot, maybe private at best, but his in depth knowledge of the COMMERCIAL aviation is ZERO!

Just a typical WANNABE who likes to play with the professionals with his crazy, unsubstantiated and dumb posts!

I have just under 25,000 hours ALL in Boeings and Airbus aircraft plus 5,000 as a simulator instructor, not big noting myself but guys like OZAIR are in every forum, just ignore him and he'll go away?

I hope!

@Ozair: I'm puzzled. How does whether or not you read it or when you read it make any difference?

I mentioned this on day 1 on these forums.
