The Patriots are reportedly the first NFL team to buy its own jets

The Patriots acquired two 767 Boeing wide-body planes to use for team travel, becoming the first NFL team to do so, according to ESPN.

The club bought the jets this offseason and retrofitted them with with first-class seats throughout. Some of those seats recline all the way. The outside of one of planes reads “Patriots’’ above the team logo and features five Lombardi trophies on the tail.

The planes are extended range, allowing for non-stop travel up to 12 hours, according to ESPN’s report.

The team will travel out of Providence.
