MH370 SHOCK: Malaysian Air Force 'IGNORED rogue plane for 40 MINUTES'

MH370 appeared on the military radar for at least 40 minutes after its transponder was switched off, but the Malaysian Air Force decided to ignore it, an investigation revealed.

MH370: Malaysian Air forces should have seen plane says expert

MH370, which had been travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board.  The Boeing 777 aircraft last communicated with air traffic control at 1.19am when the plane was flying over the South China Sea. Minutes later, it completely disappeared from civilian radar screens during a routine handover from Malaysia to Vietnamese radio channels.

Analysis of radar and satellite data shows it suddenly changed course and flew back across Malaysia before turning south of Penang and then towards the southern Indian Ocean.

However, the Malaysian Air Force was aware of a "rogue plane" as it flew over their air space on the Malaysia Peninsular at around 2am, an inquiry revealed.

Leading Australian investigation team Four Corners detailed during Amazon Prime’s “Lost: MH370” series how the Civil Aviation Authority rang the Malaysian military warning them to look out for MH370.

Former Malaysian Ministry of Defence Hishammuddin Hussein admitted they allowed for the plane to pass through the restricted airspace, despite warnings of a missing passenger jet.

If you are not going to shoot it down, what is the point in sending them up

He said in 2014: “The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) did contact the military in the early hours of the morning.”

Quizzed on why the military did not respond, he added: “It was not hostile, it was commercial, it was in our airspace and we are not at war with anyone.

“If we sent the jets up, we would not have shot it down.

“If you are not going to shoot it down, what is the point in sending them up?

“You are talking military procedures, and if we did shoot it down, you would be asking ‘how can you shoot down a commercial plane with Chinese nationals on board?’

“I would be in a worse position.”

Four Corners claims Butterworth AIrbase in Penang, which had five people monitoring the airspace that night, would have tracked the plane for up to 40 minutes.

Former US Intelligence Analyst Sean O’Conner claimed during an interview, it was no mistake it went unnoticed.

He said: “If there’s not much flying around and they [planes] all have transponder codes on and then one shows up without a transponder code, that should have been an indication something was wrong.”

President of the People's Justice Party Anwar Ibrahim says protocol was seriously breached.

MH370: Pilot ‘outsmarted’ air traffic control says former employee

He told Four Corners: “The Air Force should have been alerted and flown to the area to guide the plane to land or leave the airspace

“That is standard procedure and was not done, it is a major scandal.

“This is amounting to a major threat to national security.

“Clearly there is no defence, and the Ministry of Defence has completely ignored it.”
