Douglas DC-3 (N99FS)

Always a solid 5 for the GOONEY, ALWAYS
Invasion stripes! What's the occasion? I mean, other than an invasion?
I was stationed at KSRB in the 90’s on a medical helicopter when a DC-3 just like this one dropped in on us. Had blown a cylinder and had to land.
We offered refuge and hot coffee / food while another one flew in a maintenance crew and parts.
Got to go for a ride when it was all fixed and ready.

Love ❤️
They may not be fancy, but they keep on going. DC-3 or Gooney Bird, they are still great planes!
Yet again no information. Come on guys - tell us what's going on here!
I could be wrong, not the first time, but I believe that the DDay invitation is being redone again this year in Normandy. Possibly getting ready for the trip.
