VH-EAY — - The last Qantas crash. August 1958. The starboard undercarriage collapsed. the leg came up through the floor, tearing out my seat beside the pilot and starting an electrical fire. The Otter was dismantled and carried out to the coast. Re-registered as VH-SBS for Trans Australian Airlines, destroyed in crash at Mendi, PNG three years later.

What a great piece of history, and your name says it all. I just hope no one died in this accident. Such tricky conditions in PNG and DHC's products were in their element.
