I lived for five years next to the Brunswick ME Naval Air Station. The P3s were always taking off or landing. After a short time, I got used to the noise and it sort of disappeared. What a great, long distance, flying machine!
Lindo.
Are we looking at two aircraft? I see another refueling probe in the background.
N24RF is named "Kermit" and N43Rf is "Miss Piggy".
There are no re-fueling probes on the aircraft, what you see on the nose and wing are some kind of sensor/sampler probes.
A very nice photo.

my brother in-law flys them at lakeland
Love the sound of those Allisons! We still have some P-3's nearby at NAS Whidbey Island.
During the Atlantic hurricane season I "see" 42 & 43 quite often flying in & out of the storms.
