To be more accurate, the designation for this aircraft is now the S-64F. Erickson owns the type certificate. Only the army called in the CH-54.

Agree with Ken - this is one time that 'stopped propellers' (rotors) really add to the shot!

Yes, it is an Erickson, but there are Sikorsky CH54As flying on forestry contracts
I visited their facility in Medford, OR and watched one come in and land. The final landing sequence was a vertical decent from about 100'. It looked like an elevator going down. Awesome pilots.
